Tame The Mane // KEVIN.MURPHY

I often have a love hate relationship with my hair; I adore the colour (most of the time) but sometimes its condition lets me down. I’m also not one to do much with my barnet as it never plays ball and can either be great natural or a total unruly mop - and who’s got time for a bloody bouncy blow dry these days? Well probably many people, but I’m lazy so count me out!

I can’t really say I am loyal to my hair wash routine. I swap and change like there’s no tomorrow, but lately I have to confess I have really been liking using the KEVIN.MURPHY SMOOTH.AGAIN.WASH Smoothing Shampoo and SMOOTH.AGAIN.RINSE Smoothing Conditioner. I thought I would share it with ya for any of you that suffer from, let’s say, un-smooth hair? Sorry descriptive words have exited my brain this morning.

The Shampoo is a targeted smoothing and refining shampoo that cleanses, smoothes (oh look it’s that word again) and softens thick, course or unruly hair. I’d say I have very course hair everywhere on my body apart from my head, but it’s definitely unruly. This shampoo makes my barnet look more salonified (I think I just made that up) and less dragged through a bush. So that’s a winner in my eyes.

The Conditioner uses ion-based cationic technology whereby keratin protein (oh so good for ya hair) mimics the structure of proteins in the hair to fit seamlessly where it is needed most for smoothing and refining. Cocoa seed butter also acts as a natural layer of protection to seal raspy and split ends. I put a liberal amount of this on my mid-lengths and ends and my hair is one happy mane.

The products both smell amazing too, which let’s be fair, is definitely a deciding factor in haircare. I think it must be the cocoa seed butter. They also look pretty cool and remind me of Tetris. I had great fun - you can image I’m sure - when photographing these. Oh and the benefits? Those that are far more clean-orientated than me will appreciate that the range is both sulphate and paraben free. I believe these will be available in the UK very soon.
