Finding 'the one' // Rimmel Only 1 Matte Lipstick

I find it a little ironic that 'the one' in my life happens to be lipstick. This make-up item may not be the one for late night spooning, but it sure as hell helps me look better. And if that's not a credential for being 'the one', I don't know what is. My latest lipstick love affair is with the Rimmel Only 1 Matte Lipstick (£6.99)*. Rimmel has a lot to answer for when addressing how obsessed I am with lipstick; it was the first brand I ever bought a lipstick from way back when I was a rebellious high school *let's break all the make-up rules* student. Rimmel has got my back when it comes to lipstick; their lipsticks are top notch quality and particularly purse friendly. My purse doesn't cry when I hit the Rimmel stand, because let me tell you, it throws a tantrum when I am lingering around the MAC counter.

Rimmel have only gone and sent me the full range of Only 1 Matte lipstick to make me happy this month *grins like the cheshire cat*. I cannot express the shear delight I felt when this package landed on my doorstep. No, seriously, I was beaming. The Rimmel Only 1 Matte Lipstick represents a new generation of matte lip colour, offering a non-drying formula that is actually comfortable to wear. I genuinely love the formula of these, they glide on and last for a really good length of time. I only tend to top up after I have eaten my lunch and then it lasts for the remainder of the afternoon. The thing I really don't like? The scent. These are scented with what I believe to be, a really strong scent of watermelon and I despise watermelon. At first I also really struggled with the non-traditional bullet; kinda rounded and hard to get definition. After a while though I got used to it and worked out how best to use it, and now it's actually really easy. The scent also doesn't linger, so that's a plus for me.

The shades are super pigmented and bold, which are key things I look for in a lipstick, especially when I am going for a statement lip. Saying that though, the nude shades are also really strong in colour. There are nine shades in the range (pictured below left to right): 110 Leader Of The Pink, 120 Call The Shots, 200 Salute, 500 Take The Stage, 610 High Flyer, 700 Trendsetter, 750 Look Who's Talking, 800 Run The Show and 810 The Matte Factor.

My most worn shades so far have been High Flyer, Trend Setter and Run The Show - they're constantly in my make-up bag. What shade would you add to your #LibLibrary? For £6.99 I'd suggest bagging 'em all.
