Bronzed & Glowing // The Urban Decay Duo You Need

Ohmygawwwwd I am so obsessed with these two products from Urban Decay, I'm telling ya, there is a serious love affair happening right now. Gone are the days of being all about that base (well, I still am but go with me) because it's all about that glow nowadays, and boy do I love to glow. I'm not saying I like to resemble one big fleck of glitter, or the disco ball at Reflex, but I like to be suitably glowing at all times. When using the Urban Decay Beached Bronzer (£20)*  and Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlighter in Aura (£19)* I feel like I could be on a deserted island somewhere, doing nothing but basking in my own glow.

I think I have mentioned before how difficult it is for me to find a bronzer that is the right shade for my pallor, but the Urban Decay Beached Bronzer has become a firm favourite over the last week or so. I have hit pan on my favourite bronze/blush/highlight trio from bareMinerals, so this was a welcomed addition. I feel like a golden goddess when I put this on my cheeks, and it makes loose contouring really easy to do because the formula is matte. I tend to apply in a three shape on each side of my face with a kabuki brush - it works a treat. The powder is very finely milled, making it apply smoothly and without streaks. The coverage - in one swipe - is fairly subtle and sheer, but can be built up for desired colour which I really like; it's so controllable. The Sunkissed shade is the lighter one out of the two and is warm but not orange, something that is universally flattering for all. I also dig the packaging big time. I'm not going on holiday any time soon, so Urban Decay has definitely brought the palm tree island vibe to me.

The bronzer, particularly because it's matte, works so well with the Urban Decay Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highligher in Aura. This is stunning and seriously the best choice for pale skin tones. Y'know when you get a product and can't stop staring at it and swatching it? This. The formula is creamy and blends super nicely. I occasionally find some highlighters can apply a little patchy, but this just looks gorgeous and sets nicely over foundation and contouring products. I wore this in my latest snaps (jemlouiseee) and Instagram selfie and lots of people said how pretty it looked. HIGHLIGHT ON FLEEK are the words that spring to mind. This would be perfect for strobing too. What I really love though is how my skin looks with this on, especially in pictures. That's probably down to the infused light-diffusing pigments, gotta love those pigments.

  1. I have quite fair skin too so the bronzer looks like something I might have a little nosey at in stores, I'm most intrigued by the highlighters tho, I've seen everyone talking about them and I'm highlighter crazy at the moment! They look beautiful but I do wince a bit at the price, as someone who buys constantly drugstore does!
