NEW IN // KIKO Milano Limited Edition Trend Collection

Do you ever just look at a collection and conjure up a million make-up looks? that's exactly what I did when I first saw the new KIKO Milano Limited Edition Trend Collection*. You can notice a theme in my make-up picks recently can't you? Rose gold packaging for the win! This collection from KIKO is a design collaboration with futurist designer Ross Lovegrove, who has - with much success - captured the 'KIKONESS' of the brand; a combination of elegance, sensuality, femininity, cheerfulness and practicality. From the title, you gather that this summer range is inspired by the desire to travel and explore sun kissed landscapes; the excitement of outdoor adventures and irresistible beauty that surrounds you. The KIKO Trend Collection is defined by warm hues and glowing formulations that are further enhanced by bright pops of colour.

The new collection spans so many products that we'd be here all day if I were to explain them all, but think powder foundations, along with DD creams, bronzer, blusher, highlighter, eyeshadow & kajal sticks, lip sticks and oils, cheek sticks and a selections of brushes. The collection is also accompanied by the Wanderlust clutch - isn't it a golden beauty?

My favourite product that I have in my stash is the KIKO Desert Dunes Trio Baked Blush (£16.90), in which I have the shade 01 Lust Coral. I absolutely adore baked products, and this one is no exception. It combines three different shades (one of which is more of a highlighter) to brighten the skin and provide a radiant wash of colour. These shades of pink really compliment my skin and I can see it becoming a real staple during the summer.

I am also quite the fan of the KIKO Desert Dunes Baked Bronzer (£22.90). I initially thought this shade (Sienna Melange 201) would be too dark for me to wear as it's the darker out of the two available, but actually it gives my skin a really nice warmth. The formula is so soft and easily blended which means this works really well at sculpting the cheekbones as well as providing the traditional all-over bronze.

I also received the KIKO Sunshine DD Cream SPF 30 (£12.90), a multi-action tinted face cream that provides hydration, SPF and colour correction, in addition to a daily defense action. I swatched this on my hand and the formula feels lovely, however the shade I received was 03 Medium, which is way too dark for my lily white skin.

When I swatched the KIKO In The Shade Eyeshadow and Kajal (£9.90) at the event, they were products that I was really excited to try as I have another KIKO shadow stick and adore it. They come in amazing colour combinations - some natural, some bright - and include a cream eyeshadow on one end and a kajal eyeliner on the other. I have the shades 02 Dark Brown & Gold and 04 Emerald & Petrol Green, the latter being my favourite (surprisingly). I love the idea of green shadows in the summer, but I was a little let down by these. The pigment is amazing, and I absolutely love the Kajal side, however the cream eyeshadow was so hard to blend on my eyelids and set really quickly (great in terms of longevity but not so great for blending). I also found the lighter shade eyeshadow was really patchy, however it does work well as a highlight for the inner corners and brow bone. You can see from some of the pictures at the bottom of this post that I really struggled to work with them, which is a shame because the colours are brilliant.

If you've been a reader of my blog for some time, you will know I get way over excited about lipstick, or lip products in general; they're my guilty pleasure. The KIKO Mirage Lip Stylos (£10.90) are incredibly pigmented, yet super hydrating. They remind me of the Too Faced Color Drenched Lipsticks actually - a super bright creamy colour with the shine of a gloss. I have the shades 07 Traveler Raspberry (worn below) and 10 Adventurous Wine.

I am also very much in love with the KIKO Free Spirit Lips & Cheeks (£9.90), which I know I will be going back to store to purchase more of. I have the shade 102 Wild Guava which is a lovely lightish coral pink. There was one I swatched in store though which was a deeper rosy pink ( can't for the life of me remember the name) which I need in my stash. These are very creamy but provide more of a demi-matte finish; super ideal for the cheeks and the lips.

The collection also includes a dupe for the higher end lip oils: KIKO Heatwave Lip Oil (£10.90), which is available in three fragrances and leaves lips super nourished. Great for wearing after taking off liquid lipsticks!

As you know, I am not one to get overly excited over a mascara, but the curved shape of the KIKO Endless Sky Volume Effect Mascara (£10.90) wand really intrigued me (the designs of the products all stem for a study of the woman's figure). The brush has a mix of different fibres that are designed to load the product and separate the lashes. I find this more lengthening than volumising, but it's a really nice formula that I have been using each day since I got it.
