Yearly Round Up // 2015 Beauty Favourites

Oh 2015, what a year you were for beauty. You gave me tons of new products, some that made lasting impressions and others that will be fast tracking their way with me into the new year. When I sat down to look at my beauty collection, it was really easy to spot those products that have stayed by my side with extreme loyalty over the past twelve months; some for the full duration, and others for the latter half of the year, but all equally necessary in creating my 'go to' beauty looks. So without further ado, below are twelve handpicked items, both make-up and skincare, that made the beauty stash cut.

My favourite base product, which comes at a big surprise to me due to the fact I really didn't like it at first, is the NARS All Day Luminous Foundation (£32)*. It just shows that you shouldn't always dismiss a product after first impression, because I am absolutely in love with this foundation now. It took a while to learn how it applies best for me (a buffing brush and then a damp beauty blender) and how my skin needs to be prepped for the best possible results, but it provides a lasting matte finish that refuses to budge, split or flake. I also really like to use the Burberry Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base in Nude Radiance (£34)* underneath this foundation for an ever so subtle illuminating glow. I have used this during both summer and winter and don't see myself eliminating from my routine any time soon. Another base product that I have not stopped using during the latter half of the year is the bareMinerals The Royal Court Palette (£25)* which has all my bronzer, blusher and highlighting needs rolled into one. I am going to be suffering from real separation anxiety when this is gone (and i'm already nearing pan) because it's the best match for my pale skin. I think I will have to track down the individual shades when they do eventually run out. For when I want a more intense highlight, I find myself forever returning to the cult beauty favourite of 2015: the Becca Jaclyn Hill Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop (£32). I don't think I need to say much on this other than a little goes a long way, and it's totally gorge! If you haven't got your hands on it yet, it's now available in the UK at Space NK - result!

Eyeshadow wise, 2015 was the year where I experimented greatly with shadows, as I hadn't really dabbled in them prior to this. My favourite release this year, and probably one of my all time favourite palettes, is the Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette (£15.50), which I have raved and raved about previously. The shade selection is second to none and complements my blue eyes and pale skin tremendously. Shadows are velvety in texture and are long wearing without creasing. I also think Zoeva eye shadow palettes are great value for money considering how many shades are in each one. The L'Oréal Paris Volume Million Lashes Feline Mascara (£9.99) was my top mascara pick for separating, defining and lengthening my lashes without lacking volume; while the Soap & Glory Archery Brow Filling Pencil & Brush (£10) has been my top pick for naturally defining my brows while also being a great Anastasia Brow Wiz dupe.

I love lipstick as much as the next beauty enthusiast, it really is one of the products that excites me most about doing my make-up. This year, however, I have stepped away from my usual bold hues for shades a little more natural and akin to my own lip shade. Two have stood out, both of which I have back ups of: Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Stoned Rose (£23)* and GOSH Velvet Touch Lipstick in Matte Rose (£6.99). Obviously I'm attracted to rosy tones, whether that be more brown (CT) or pink (GOSH) based. MAC Velvet Teddy would be another cult classic from the past year too.

beauty and skincare favourites for 2015
In terms of skincare, this year I feel it has been lacking for me as opposed to usual, however there have been three products in particular that I have adored using, and each in their own right has affected my skin in a positive way. For cleanser, 2015 was the year I was introduced to the infamous OSKIA Renaissance Cleansing Gel (£28)*, which cleared up my skin in a matter of weeks and is so refreshing and moisturising to use. Secondly, for my under eye circles (which for a 23 year old are quite shocking) the Hylamide SubQ Eyes Advanced Serum (£27)* has been a gift from heaven, as has this Eisenberg Pure White All Over Nourishing Cream Night Treatment (£99)* which leaves my skin illuminated, moisturised and regenerated over night. It's pricy, but it's a huge treat for my skin and one that I will have to use sparingly.
