Monthly Beauty Favourites // January

I Love when January is over; it's such a bleak month of trying to work off the copious amounts of cheese, yorkshire puddings and chocolate you had over Christnas, and is a time when your bank account suffers an awful stint in hell. So yes, you could say I am glad that February is on the horizon. As expected, I haven't been able to treat myself to anything particularly new this month, so finding beauty favourites was fairly easy (those items I forced myself to use, basically). January was a month that I made a promise to myself to use up a lot of things that were just lingering in my beauty stash, fast approaching their sell by dates. I have a lot of skincare and haircare open, and a ton of foundations so I am hoping to rekindle my love with the lot of them before cheating on them yet again with the next new launch.

January Beauty Favourites
001: blow ltd #10minuteblow Soft & Silky Nourishing Oil (£20)* - My housemate works at blow ltd and kindly gave me one of their new products to try. Since cutting my hair short, and it being a lot less porous than it was previously, I have had to dramatically alter my haircare. I no longer seem to need the ten million protein masks, or deep conditioning oils I was using before because they now make my hair appear greasier than it looked prior to washing. However, my ends have still been needing a light injection of moisture, whereby this product has come in super handy. It's a lightweight, non-greasy feeling oil that I just rub into the ends of my hair pre or post blow-dry. Hair feels suitably silky, and generally more revived.

002: Alpha H Liquid Laser Cleansing Oil (£35.95)* - This has been sitting in my skincare back up drawer for probably around six months, if not longer. I've been seeing it pop-up everywhere lately and decided it was time to give it a whirl as I threw away my other cleansing oil (The Body Shop one, which I did really like if you're interested). Rather than immediately coming out as an oil, which I expected, this is more of a gel formula until massaged into the skin with water. It's also really light and doesn't irritate my face, something I half expected to happen. This really brightens my lacklustre skin and resurfaces it for a smooth and hydrated feeling; a product that I like to use in the morning or as a second evening cleanse.

003: Bourjois City Radiance Foundation (£9.99)* and 004: Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer (£7.99)  - Now I won't bore you with the details as I have previously raved about these new Bourjois beauties, but let's just say I haven't stopped using them and yesterday I had to repurchase the concealer. On the occasion I do put on another base combo, I regret it instantly and wish I had the glowy, clear looking complexion that these two products provide. You need to try them, seriously. These are the first two products in a long time that I have used and not had a single complaint about (and repurchased).

Becca Champagne Pop
005: Becca Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector Champagne Pop (£32) - Another one that will come at no surprise, but this month I've wanted to keep that party make-up feeling going, and this is the product that has helped me do that. I prefer using this for more of the special occasion, or evening out, but a light dusting (and I mean very light dusting as it's very pigmented) is great for day wear. I love combining this with a gold shimmery eye for the ultimate pop!

006: Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade (£15) - Another product that I haven't stopped using since I got it from the US, is this little pot of utter brow delight. I find this works best when just having my eyebrows threaded (the Brow Wiz works better for the overgrown look - for me anyway), but it lasts all day and allows me to be precise in application. I also really relish the fact that I can accidentally rub my brows and this still fails to transfer.
