Current Favourite Base Duo // Bourjois City Radiance

If you were to ask me what make-up products I couldn't live a day without, I would say - without hesitation - foundation and concealer. Yes, for me, it's always about the base. It always has been, ever since I first delved into beauty and bought my first EL Double Wear Foundation way back when. As I've gotten older, I have realised that less foundation and more concealer is the ideal formula; I find it a lot easier to build coverage with concealer than piling on extra layers of foundation, therefore a lighter base has become a firm favourite (I didn't think I would hear myself say that ever). My favourite base products at the moment are the Bourjois City Radiance Foundation (£9.99)* and Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer (£7.99)*. I have been putting these to the test ever since I got to preview them in December, and I'm being completely honest when I say I have worn this combination pretty much every day since.
Bourjois City Radiance Foundation
Bourjois is a drugstore brand I really respect and it's very rare that I dislike one of its products. I was disheartened that the Healthy Mix Foundation used to break me out because I loved the formula, so I was excited to give the City Radiance Foundation a go. For SS16 it seems to be all about glowy, radiant skin and this foundation provides that in an instant; it's brightening and leaves skin feeling hydrated and weightless. The formula is enriched with coated pigments which hold throughout the day and boost the radiance of the skin. What's great for us city dwellers is that the foundation offers an anti-pollution screen, reducing the possibility of carbon particles settling on the skin while allowing it to breathe. The formula also includes SPF30, which is a huge benefit considering it's so light wearing. I have the shade Rose Ivory (five other shades available), which seems to be the palest and it blends really well, almost like a second layer of skin. If I had to say one negative, it would be the scent, which is said to be fresh water flower, but that's just because I am not particularly a huge fan of scented base products.

Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer
My favourite out of the two new launches has got to be the Radiance Reveal Concealer in 01 Ivory, which is the perfect counterpart of the foundation. I think this is the best concealer I have tried since being introduced to the Urban Decay Naked Concealer; I find it very similar and incredibly creamy in consistency. The concealer brightens shadowed areas of the face, moisturises and smoothes the eye contour with a really lovely doe foot applicator. Two other shades are available: 02 Beige and 03 Dark Beige. I have nearly come to the end of mine so will definitely be picking this up when it launches on 21 January.
