Monthly Beauty Favourites: October

These are the most un-autumnal photographs ever, but y'know MY LITTLE PONY PAPER. I got a wee bit excited when I stumbled across these drawer liners at my Nan's and immediately claimed them as my own. I won't use them as drawer liners but they're great for backgrounds, am I right? Ok, maybe I'm still an over excitable young child; I am not 23 at all, nope definitely not. So, another month, another favourites. October is one of my favourite months of the year; 'tis the season to start darkening down everything and turning into a vampy human. I know you're all doing it too! I actually didn't try that many new products in October, but the small selection I did continuously reach for are gems, that's for sure.

Max Factor Creme Puff Blush, NARS Stud Eyeshadow, Lee Stafford CoCo LoCo, Barry M Gelly Black Grape, Lush Shaving Smoothie, NARS No Shame Lipstick
001: Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in Lavish Mauve (£8.99) - After being recommended these by a number of people on the understanding they were similar to the Hourglass powders, I finally caved. I have worn this nearly everyday over the past month and absolutely love the formula. Although I have a pale complexion, I wanted to opt for an autumnal shade that wouldn't be too harsh. Lavish Mauve is the perfect match for me and blends really well to leave a cool-toned wash of colour. I am definitely going to go back for more.

002: NARS Steven Klein Single Eyeshadow in Stud (£18)* - I am wholeheartedly obsessed with this pewter bronze eyeshadow, which I also featured in this blog post. The formula is extremely buttery and pigmented and the colour suitable for both day and night; one that also works really well at highlighting and lining the eyes.

003: Lee Stafford CoCo LoCo CoConut SPRiTz (£5.99)* - Lee Stafford is one of my favourite hairdressers, and his product range very rarely disappoints. The latest CoCo LoCo range is perfect for those, like me, who are totes obsessed with the coconut scent. My hair cannot cope without a leave-in conditioner, and this moisturising milk works really well at detangling hair, while refreshing and revitalising the strands when feeling a little dry. When I use this on dry hair (just on the ends) my hair is tamed and feels much softer.

004: Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Black Grape (£3.99)* - October is always vampy, right? It's the start of the Autumn season whereby we all get a little over excited at the prospect of darkening our look. This Black Grape shade has been on my nails at least 60% of the month and it makes me feel sophisticated and ready for business, in a witchy kinda way. I know, I question myself too sometimes, but seriously this is a great shade that goes with a diverse selection of ensembles. I also love that although it initially looks black, in certain lights the purple grape hue is really noticeable. I will always revert back to the Gelly Hi Shine formula from Barry M as I find they emulate a gel manicure perfectly, and last for a good length of time without chipping or losing shine.

005: Lush Five O'Clock Whistle Shaving Smoothie (£7.95, 100g)* - Now, I have to admit that I am that girl that very rarely shaves her legs, but when I do, I usually opt for conditioner. I have never found anything that has made my legs feel so smooth after shaving and not at all irritated. That is until now. Lush would be the last place I'd usually think of going to get a shaving cream, but this Shaving Smoothie has made its way into my routine without fear of being replaced. With organic jojoba oil and freshly squeezed lime juice, along with a coffee and lavender infusion, kaloin and extra virgin olive oil, the rich and creamy smoothie gently cleanses and conditions the skin, offering a nice clean shave without living in fear of stepping out dripping with blood.

006: NARS Steven Klein Killer Shine Lipstick in 'No Shame' (£20)* - Again, one I have previously dedicated a blog post too, but I honestly cannot get enough of this collaboration. This month I have finally discovered that the best way to apply this lipstick is with a lip brush - it is much creamier that way. The daring red plum is an Autumn love affair not to be missed.
