Skin Treat: OSKIA Renaissance Cleansing Gel

As it goes, I am a creature of habit and rarely stray from routine. In terms of skincare, I try a varied line up of products, but more often than not, revert back to my habitual ways and to those products that I know really work. Every so often I will be introduced to a product that strikes me down; a product that I know will intervene my current skincare regime, and one that I know I won't ever be able to leave behind. It doesn't happen all that often, but when it does, I feel I should treat it like finding a decent man: hold on to it for dear life and don't let it escape my clutches. Obviously I am speaking theoretically here, as no man - for me - has ever come close to the 'always and forever' calibre. Without going off on a tangent, the latest product in question is the OSKIA Renaissance Cleansing Gel (£28)*. I know, I know, where have I been you may ask? Well, clearly not where I should have been while amidst the plethora of skincare products. I am one of those ladies in waiting when it comes to blogger hypes; I let the dust settle and wait and see whether the hype is longstanding before deciding to try it for myself. The OSKIA Renaissance Cleansing Gel is definitely a cult skincare product, which I am sure a number of people will rave about until the cows come home, and quite honestly, I am annoyed at myself for resisting for so long. It's a new season, the cold is setting in, and it's time to up the skincare anti to revive my dry and dull complexion, therefore I've been giving this cleanser a whirl.

What first drew me to wanting to try OSKIA was its home grown approach to the skin and its philosophy of harnessing the benefits of MSN, which is most commonly known as the 'beauty mineral'; a natural form of organic sulphur that boosts collagen production, promotes circulation, while decreasing inflammation for a brighter complexion. This first-hand discovery evolved into a nutritional approach, utilising essential cell nutrients (minerals, vitamins, proteins, essential fatty acids) that are vital in upholding optimal skin health and performance. OSKIA is a very honest brand, and I trust its values, resulting in the huge urge to try the products.

On first try, I was drawn to the scent; a potent, but not overbearing, rose fragrance with a hint of chamomile. The formula is of a gel consistency with a radiant looking pinky orange hue, which melts into an oil when warmly massaged into the skin. I like to give my skin a good massage when using this, and then leaving it to sink in for a minute before emulsifying it with a splash of water. The product feels so refreshing on the skin and skin feels deeply cleaned post-wash off (which I use a muslin cloth for). I find this cleanser is my 'go to' on days where I have worn slightly heavier make-up as it quite literally melts away, making even the trickiest of mascaras a breeze to remove. Infused with vitamins A, C and E, skin feels instantly refreshed, energised and radiant; after a few weeks my skin is positively looking healthier, more plumped and - ultimately - emitting a lovely glow.

Although suitable for all skin types, I feel this is definitely a must have for those of you like me with dry, dull complexions, and a product ideal for the fast-approaching coldness of winter. If you want soft, supple and calmer skin, the OSKIA Renaissance Cleanser is worth a try. Dare I say it, but for now, this has taken over my Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish routine. I will forever be repurchasing.
