Spring Lipstick Edit: 5 Bold Lips

When I am feeling like I am lacking in confidence, I wear a bright, happy shade of lipstick. When I am feeling spendy, I buy a lipstick. As a rule, lipsticks equate happiness in my life. In the spring/summer I love a bold lip, which distracts from the fact that I am rather lazy with the rest of my face. Saying that, I absolutely love sporting a subtle hint of mascara and a dewy complexion because it draws so much more attention to the lip colour you are wearing. I will always be a lips over eyes girl any day. Since our 'English summer' has been, well, typically English, I've enlisted the help of a few of my favourite lipstick brands to help me get my lips looking spring ready. I actually separate my collection into S/S and A/W, and there is always a capsule collection that I keep coming back to...

KISS Cosmetics KISStick in Toxic Kiss (£7*) - I am not usually one to gravitate towards bright pinks, but this really changed my preference. I find blue-toned pinks really suit a pale complexion and it contrasts, in a good way, with my purple hair. You can read a full review on KISS Cosmetics' KISStick here.

Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in Vibrant Coral 110 (£5.49) - The perfect bright red shade with an orangey/coral undertone, and the ideal formula for the warmer season: slightly creamy, matte but not drying. I love how this colour makes my eyes pop, too. I think this is a firm favourite among many bloggers and now I see why.

Topshop Lipstick in On the Town (£8) - The shade I always dream of having as a hair colour. This pinky-toned lipstick is from Topshop, however I don't think it's available anymore, which is dissappointing. It's great for those 'non-precise' lipstick days (my everyday pretty much!). You know what I mean, it's one you don't have to look in the mirror to apply, and super creamy.

MAC Cosmetics Morange (£15.50)  - I really do have a love affair with this lippy. It's my current favourite for something bright and summery, and looks especially great with a stripped back complexion. Orange is the new black after all, OK not really relevant as I don't think many of us dare to embrace black lips...

MAC Cosmetics Violetta  (£15.50) - Again, I have raved about this so many times, but it's a gorgeous blue-toned violet in an amplified finish. You can read all about it in this post.
