Shower time favourites

Who doesn't love shower time? I love it, unless it's blooming freezing and I fear I will step out and turn into an ice statue that is. I have a whole trunk of bath time and shower goodies, that as soon as it starts to get low it induces full on heart palpitations, honestly yes I am a drama queen, I gotta smell nice okay?

Apart from having the obligatory LUSH and Soap & Glory goodies, I always like to be on the hunt for new products and Ameliorate has got to be one of the best discoveries I made in 2014. As a KP (Keratosis Pilaris) sufferer, the brand's products have literally improved my self confidence when it comes to looking at my body, helping to keep my skin smoother and less red for a longer period of time. I have already used up the body lotion - which is literally incredible-, so to keep me going before ordering more, I have been using both the Ameliorate Body Mitt and Shower Cream*, which work in tandem with each other. The shower cream is like the consistency of a light moisturiser which - in a way - grips the skin while you shower, meaning you can leave it on for a while without the fear of the water just completely rinsing it off. I like to use the mitt before I get in to do the groundwork of removing any dead skin cells.

When I like to do a double wash for a stronger scent, I have been using the LUSH So White shower gel*. I will be sad when I run out of this due to it being a limited edition item, however it should last me quite a long while. As for post-shower moisture, this Mandara Spa Body Butter* smells incredible. These butters are very similar to those from The Body Shop and provide quite a heavy coating before sinking into the skin. The scent I have is Shea & Coconut, but there are tons to choose from and they are conveniently stocked in Sainsbury's, ideal for adding onto the weekly shop (almost makes you feel like you're not actually spending anything when it arrives with ya food, eh?)

As for hair, since dying it purple and bleaching the hell out of it, I have been prone to a wee bit of hair loss... well I say little, for a while it was coming out in clumps *oops*. This meant I needed protein, protein and more protein. After a trip to Sally's, I settled on this Schwarzkopf BC Fibre Force Fortifier Treatment which has been a hair saver, quite literally. I applied this a few times a week after also using the shampoo and conditioner from the same range and it really made a difference, putting the keratin back into the follicle and strengthening it to the point where I could actually have my hair cut. In between the protein treatments I would use the Lee Stafford Ubuntu Oils Moisturising Shampoo and Conditioner* to increase the moisture content. These not only smell divine, but they make your hair really soft, even badly damaged hair like mine. Tangle Teezer is the only thing I can use on my brittle hair, and when paired with the Unite 7 Seconds Leave-in Conditioner*, it creates super manageable hair.
